My Fitness Pal the calorie tracker!

MyFitnessPal is an application you can get on your smartphone that tracks your calories for the day.  Studies show people lose weight a lot faster when they track their calories.  MFP specializes how many calories you should take in for your heighth and desired weight.  It follows all current recommendations for your body size on intake of sodium, potassium, carbs (sugar and fiber), iron, vitamins, fats, cholesterol, proteins, the whole 9 yards.  You can either look up your foods in a search or use your phone as a scanner to scan the food's UPC code (there are some Iphones that don't have a scanner).  It even goes as far as letting you choose foods from menus at most restaurants.  If the food isn't in the search you can enter it for you to find in the future and for other users to find.  It allows you to create recipes, so that vegetarian meatloaf I made has all the ingredients entered and stores it away for the next time that I make it.  The app also lets you track the number of glasses of water you have drank as well as enter in your cardio or strengthening exercises.

On the android app it doesn't allow you to see anything more than what is above.  One day I decided to see if there was a website.  Sure enough MyFitnessPal.com.  It's the Facebook of weight loss and getting fit.  It allows you to add friends to motivate and encourage each other.  It also allows you to blog, post on message boards, join groups, share recipes, post pictures, etc.  From my understanding the iphone app allows you to see all of that too!
